What is Spirulina?
Share
Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae found in oceans and salty lakes, and is a nutrient-dense food. Iron, beta-carotene, thiamine (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), copper, and magnesium are found in spirulina. One tablespoon of nature’s oldest plant on earth has vital nutrients & is 20 calories, with 4g of protein, 2g of carbs, and 1g of fat.
Blue spirulina has the same benefits as green, but includes a higher concentration of
phycocyanin (an antioxidant).
Add a tablespoon a day to reduce inflammation and free radicals, and to alleviate allergy & symptoms. Spirulina has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Put a little in your dog or cat's water bowl to freshen up that breath. Put a tablespoon in your smoothie for your health as well.
